MANUFACTURE NATIONALE DE SEVRES Rare and large antique-style hard-paste porcelain pot with handles on pedestal, decorated in paste on paste with dancers and angels with cymbals forming a frieze, emerging on a mauve background. Gold highlights. Monogrammed and dated 68 for 1868 on the side. Attached by a stem to a marble base. Lid incomplete. Perfect original condition, with slight firing cracks. Note: to be compared with a similar model in the same color, decorated "La révolte des amours", 1866-1867, using the same technique created by Alphonse-Louis Salvetat, engineer at the Sèvres factory, for the 1863 Universal Exhibition. This chameleon-like paste has the property of changing hue according to the lighting. H: 48 cm (with base) / H: 36 cm (without base) D : 42 cm
