BANKSY (1974), based on. Wrong war "Bomb Hugger - Lot 483
BANKSY (1974), based on. Wrong war "Bomb Hugger
Spray-painted stencil on cardboard. Carries four stickers. Painted "Blood On Your Hands" on back.
95 x 64 cm approx. (Signs of wear, three small holes in the middle of the work as it was attached to a poll during the demonstration).
Banksy created a number of different panels for the 2003 London demonstration against the war in Iraq, but few originals have survived. There's no way of telling, but there were very few demonstrations to begin with. The Studio distributed the boxes to the artist's friends who participated in the anti-war march in 2003 to create a viral presence on the march).
