Gabon
Wood, copper
Height : 59 cm
This reliquary figure covered with brass strips is characterized by a slightly concave ovoid face. The half-moon shaped eyes echo the mouth with raised corners. The headdress envelops the face in two brass-covered side shells. The neck is prolonged by a base with a diamond-shaped opening on the front, which allowed the effigy to be attached to the basket with ropes and strips of vegetable fiber.
