Senoufo style maternity hospital - Lot 323
Senoufo style maternity hospital
Ivory Coast
Wood, vegetable fibers
Height : 64 cm
This maternity is sitting in a conventional pose on a circular stool, her child suckling her breast. The attitude is serene and hieratic. Under the sophisticated hairstyle, the face is protruding, echoing the projected breasts. Numerous scarifications in relief decorate the face and the body. Richness of the jewels: bracelets on the arms, wrists, ankles, necklace on the neck. Red highlights on the child's body and the seat of the stool.
