Contemporary statue of Fang style - Lot 157
Contemporary statue of Fang style
Gabon
Wood, golden pigments
Height : 36 cm
Seated figure in a solemn posture, both hands joined towards the center of the bust. The roundness of the body's limbs accentuates the powerful musculature, in opposition to the calmness that seems to emanate from it. The face, of a soft oval shape, is adorned with a drooping headdress with narrow lines. The top of the forehead, the conical breasts, the wrists and the lower abdomen are embellished with gold.
