Dogon style couple - Lot 127
Dogon style couple
Mali
Wood
H : 32 cm
Male and female couple seated in a solemn, conventional posture on a small stool. Similarity of body shapes, as well as echoing positions, only the woman's chest, as well as her hands delicately placed on her knees, distinguish their body aspects. The man has a long and beautiful beard plunging forward, as well as a headdress. The woman, with harmonious features and full lips, wears an elegant headdress braided from her temples to the back of her neck. Very beautiful eyes, intensified by the lightly raised rim of the eyes, giving it a strong expressiveness. Brown crusty patina.
