Dogon style mask, Mali - Lot 70
Dogon style mask, Mali
Wood with a crusty patina
Height : 29 cm
Helmet mask, cone-shaped, dome-shaped, all in length, the forehead in ogive, the bottom of the face in oval. The softness of these curves is contrasted with the rigor of the netety lines of the nose, defined by a long linear nasal bridge, strict starting from the eyebrow arch in relief drawn by a horizontal line, announcing the recessed eyelids. Square hollowed out eyes. Epure of the forms at its peak.
