Yaoure style mask - Lot 303
Yaoure style mask
Ivory Coast
Wood
Height : 34 cm
This stylized anthropozoomorphic mask with animal ears has an ovoid face, dominated by a domed chin. It is extended on each side of the face by two white tusks curved towards each other, thus framing the face. The slit eyes are hollowed out under the frontal hemisphere. The long nose guides the gaze towards the small, sketched mouth. A bird is placed on the top of the skull.
