Yaoure style mask - Lot 231
Yaoure style mask
Ivory Coast
Wood
Height : 33 cm
This mask combines zoomorphic elements with the human face - here, two animal horns curved forward. It is distinguished by its minimalism, the fineness of its features, and the extreme serenity that emanates from it. The slit eyes are surmounted by heavy and drooping eyelids. The nose, long and hemmed, contrasts with the small open mouth, slightly prognathic.
