Jukun style statue - Lot 106
Jukun style statue
Nigeria / Cameroon
Wood
Height : 71,5 cm
This hermaphroditic statue presents a figure wearing a conical hat with a checkerboard pattern. The masterful face, slightly projected forward, whose nose with dilated nostrils divides almost entirely to the straight and pinched mouth, is framed by protruding ears. The hands, marked with deep grooves to signify the fingers, are placed on a bulbous belly.
