Terracotta jar with a spherical body decorated with high-rel - Lot 36
Terracotta jar with a spherical body decorated with high-relief motifs, extended by a disproportionately long neck. The head is carried towards the sky. The expression is reinforced by the round exorbitant eyes separated by a jagged median rib. The pouring hole takes the form of a wide open beak, evoking, with the small lateral ears, the zoomorphic character of the sculpture. At the back of the figure, a small zoomorphic figure is carved in the round.
Ga'anda / Mambila style - Nigeria / Cameroon
